Data Deletion Request
Last updated: 1 August 2026
You can ask us to delete the personal information MainGrid holds about you. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and how long it takes.
How to request deletion
Email [email protected] with the subject line “Data deletion request” and include:
- The identifier your data is attached to — the phone number you called or messaged from, your WhatsApp number, or your Facebook or Instagram username.
- The business you contacted, if you know it (for example the shop or clinic whose number you called).
- Whether you want everything deleted, or only a specific conversation.
We may need to confirm the request comes from you before acting on it — typically by replying from the same number or account.
If you contacted us through WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram
Send the request from the same account you used to message, or tell us the number or username, so we can find the right conversation. Deleting your data from MainGrid removes it from our systems; it does not delete the copy held in your own WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram app, and it does not delete anything held by Meta. To remove MainGrid's access from your Facebook account, you can also visit Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites and remove the app there.
What gets deleted
- Your conversation history — call transcripts, and chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram threads.
- Call records associated with your number, including metadata such as time and duration.
- Messages taken on your behalf, and the contact details in them.
- Appointments you booked, unless the business needs them to deliver a service you have already paid for.
What we may keep
We may retain a limited amount of information where the law requires it or where we have a legitimate need:
- Billing and transaction records, for tax and accounting obligations.
- Records needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Aggregated or anonymised statistics that can no longer identify you.
- Records we must keep to enforce a block you asked for, or to prevent abuse.
An important note about the business you contacted
When you contact a business that uses MainGrid, that business is the owner of the conversation and MainGrid handles it on their behalf. We will act on your request and will also pass it to the business, but the business may hold its own separate copy — for example in its calendar, email, or CRM — that is outside our control. To have those copies removed, contact the business directly.
How long it takes
We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and complete verified deletions within 30 days. Backups are rotated on a rolling schedule, so a residual copy may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before it is overwritten.
Closing a MainGrid account
If you are a MainGrid customer and want to close your account, email [email protected] from the address on the account. We will confirm the final balance, release any phone numbers we manage for you, and delete or anonymise account data within 90 days.
